It was a warm and sunny day and so we were able to retake the photos we had taken in the rain previously. This is where Dame Nelly Melba (she of the opera and peach Melba) used to live.
At Potts Point there was a little Sunday market and the fountain was looking much prettier with sun to make it sparkle.
It was in an apartment block like the one behind the fountain where Nola's maiden aunts, Kath and Muff once lived on the seventh floor. There were not too many blocks of this height but the area still has lots of lovely housing from the 1920s.
We descended to Rushcutters Bay which is surrounded by a dog friendly park with a cricket pitch and grandstand.
There were steps down to the water edge and a very small patch of sand from where dogs were swimming to retrieve sticks.
As we walked round the shoreline there were lots of fish in the water including a little puffer fish.
In the bay were many serious large racing sailing boats and we were not surprised to find that this was the Cruising Club of Australia so we signed in as temporary members and ate lunch on the terrace overlooking the harbour. There was no boat activity to watch since the Sunday race had started before we got up and the yachts were now in the ocean.
In the clubhouse there was a display of all boats from the club which had won the Sydney to Hobart race since the 1930s, so, as suspected, a serious racing club. We headed for home by continuing around the peninsula past more lovely houses
and Elizabeth Bay with its small park and more dogs retrieving sticks.

The next park was Embarkation Park, next to the McElhone Steps.
After a siesta it was time to pack for Monday's trip to Canberra and to have a lazy evening.
